After hikeing up a tough trail to the upper portion of  the park. Matt on the rock Jeff standing..

The ruins of Machu Pichu, rediscovered in 1911 by Yale archaeologist Hiram Bingham, are one of  the most beautiful sites in the world. While the Inca people utilized the Andean mountain top (9060 feet elevation), erecting massive stone structures from the early 1400's, legends  and myths indicate that Machu Pichu (meaning 'Old Peak' in the Quechua language) was revered as  a sacred place from a far earlier time.

Another shot of the views Cole/Jeff checking out
the views.

Not one of our pictures but a view of Machu Pichu during the rainy season.

are literally at the base of Machu Pichu in a   town called Aguas Caliente. I need to add the pictures. Its a great little
town almost entirely built on the tourism industry. Lots of
places to eat and buy things. Below we found a friendly place
to eat some chicken and or Pizza. Matt//Cole/ and our Hostess. Jeff must be taking the picture.

A Nice shot of the Train that took us from Cuzco to Aguas Caliente we took the the expensive tourist train since we heard stories of the other train. 1/3 the price but you have to ride the rails with  chickens perhaps siting next to you . Also a shot (above) of what you will see as your travel to
Aguas Caliente.
