The best part of any trip is who you end up meeting . In order to do that don't go on any tours otherwise you will meet Americans.
I meet them in America by the way so no need to travel to South America for that. Cuzco is located at over 11,000 feet above sea level
so climbing a few stairs is a major accomplishment ......... Those stairs led to a local hangout way above the Cuzco main Plaza (shown below)
where we got to eat and drink with the local citizens.

We were in Cuzco at the
time of some very big celebrations. Surounding this plaza were street
vendors selling everything from Coco Tea,(coco leaves) to Shoeshines
for 50 cents . The Plaza de
Armas and the Cathedral Is what you are
viewing above.
On the grounds of
a university at cusco are rooms houseing rare historical items from
Cusco's past. Holding up the ceiling is Jeff.
Now
I regret that I did not take the cab ride above the city to
see this(my roomate took the pic). Can't see everything
but Jeff & I did a walking tour of Downtown Cuzco while
Matt checked out the rocks at The Inka Ruins of Sacsayhuaman
Cuzco was built in the shape of a puma and
Sacsayhuaman represents
the head of the Puma. Some
of the bigger stones weigh
more than 300 tons.
